Greetings. A topic that was recently brought to my attention is the oft debated subject: "WHICH BROWSER IS BETTER?" First, im going to discuss my history of browsers, why i changed, and what im using now. I started off in Explorer simply because it was what came with my XP system. I used it for at least a year and contracted many viruses and inumerable spyware/adware. After i got fed up with Explorer and also changed computors, i downloaded and started using
Netscape. My first encounter with Netscape was back in the days when a 300mhz system was "hella fast". My dad used netscape because that was the browser that Cisco systems was reccomending to their workers at the time. Now, more than five years later, Computors have come a long way, but Netscape hasn't. It still somehow manages to crash the system with its incredible ability to absorb as much RAM as your computor has, causing it to become sluggish as if it was a 4'1'' asian man named Lop Sing Houw after a night at the bar. The one thing that made Netscape worth tollerating was the ability to use "Tabs". Tabs essentially allow the user to have more than one webpage open at once without having to open a new browser window thus depleting even more of the system's already tight rescources. As i was sitting in class taking my Graphic Design Final my retarted and VERY VERY WHITE teacher Mr. Marshal made some comment about a browser that he was using called
Firefox. I diddn't think much of it at the time because Mr. Marshal has a tendancy to rant about the superiority of all things not Microsoft which i have an inclination to agree with most of the time. I went home and that night, co-writer of this blog, Joe, sent me an IM concerning how good Firefox is. I decided to try it out and see for sure. Lo and behold, it is the holy grail of browsers. Firefox protects agenst Spyware and tracking cookies by not loading Active X controlls. It has an excellent built-in pop-up-blocker (ooo hyphens), and there are hundreds of free "Extentions" that have a variety of functions such as controlling banner adds or translating web pages. its fast, smooth, and by far the best. i suggest all readers of this blog go and check Firefox out at the link i provided. Happy Browsing
